Mike’s Jeeps

Mike is the founder of jeepfan.com. A lifelong “Jeepfan” playing around, modifying, building, and everything else with Jeeps for decades. Now on Jeep number 9 (some CJ’s, JK and YJ Wranglers, Cherokee, and Liberty and about 5 CJ’s for parts) the saga continues.

Mike’s 77 CJ-7

Mike’s 1977 CJ-7. The equipment list is rather extensive on this Jeep. A perfect combination of good looks and serious trail-worthy make this Jeep incredible.

jeepfan.com 1978 CJ-5

This 1978 CJ-5 has been in our stable since 1997 and as soon as we had our hands on it all kinds of ideas filled our heads. The Jeep was essentially a restored stock Jeep with an AMC V8 and a fiberglass body.  It’s hard to find a more perfect Jeep to start a project. …

Rough Country TJ 2.5″ Lift Kit Install – Part 3

Rear Installation As we did during the front installation support the Jeep’s weight on stands to allow the rear suspension to partially hang free. Start by removing the shocks. Rough Country TJ 2.5″ Lift Kit Install – Part 4

Skid Plate Spacer Installation Nearing the end of the install the last step is to install the transmission skid plate spacers. Support the plate on a floor jack and remove the three bolts on one side.

General Jeep – A Dukes of Hazzard style YJ

The General Jeep – John Vavra’s YJ Wrangler is modeled after the Dukes of Hazzard General Lee. Sporting bright orange paint and the familiar 00 this Jeep sure gets attention.

BDS 3″ Lift for Wrangler JK Rubicon – Part 5

Lifting a Wrangler JK or TJ will cause the axle to shift to one side due to the increased angle of the front track bar. In the rear adding a drop bracket will correct the angle and place the axle back where it belongs. The front is a different story. The steering drag link and …

BDS 3″ Lift for Wrangler JK Rubicon – Part 4

Installing the Rear Raise the Jeep and support by jack stands under the frame in front of the rear control arm mounts. We also add additional support for the rear of the Jeep with a high lift jack under the rear bumper. Keep the rear axle supported by a floor jack at close to ride …
