Wrangler TJ Upper Rear Shock Bolt Nightmare

We are admittedly a little light on the TJ expertise but even the most novice TJ owner should be familiar with the dreaded upper rear shock bolts.  From the factory the shocks are installed on the assembly line, likely before the body is on the Jeep.  Additionally, to save time a robot welds threaded inserts …

Suspension Removed, Axles Out

Progress on the jeepfan.com 2004 TJ Unlimited – Front and rear axles are out, along with the entire suspension. Air lockers, new gears, and a Teraflex lift coming up. Check out the TeraFlex arm to the stock one. Rusted, seized bolts slowed progress – thank you PB Blaster and carbide sawzall blades.

BFGoodrich Mud Terrain on Rubicon Extreme Wheels

One of the earliest mods on our TJ Unlimited project was new tires and wheels.  All TJs came with 15 inch wheels unless the Jeep is a Rubicon where it was outfitted with 16 inch.  The 16 inch wheel adds some improvement in appearance to the TJ and creates more tires options since the 15 …

285-75-R16 BFGoodrich Tires with No Lift

Itching to put the new BFG tires we picked up from Quadratec mounted to the 16 inch Quadratec Rubicon Extreme black wheels on the jeepfan.com 2004 TJ Unlimited we stuck them on the Jeep with no lift.  These tires measure in at a true 33 inches tall and are dangerously close to the front flare. …

jeepfan.com 2004 TJ Wrangler Unlimited

Presenting the newest project to join the jeepfan.com Jeeps.  Moving backward to 2004, the first year of the TJ Wrangler Unlimited is where we wanted to start a new project as part of our new book being published by CarTech Books.  The new book with a working title, Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 Building and Modifying …

John’s Wrangler TJ

John’s 2005 TJ Wrangler Rubicon is an interesting Jeep with some features not commonly seen within the community.  The fact that the TJ is lifted and running 37″ Irok tires on Moab wheels isn’t what makes this Jeep as unique looking as the presence of custom fitted Wrangler JK flares resulting in a clean, home …

Quadratec Jeeps and Java March 2017 Album

Enjoy some pictures from around the event.  There seemed to be a wide variety of Jeeps from a few CJ’s, and YJ’s to a boat load of TJ and JK’s.  Many sizes and tons of variations shows that everyone has their own ideas of how to build a Jeep. ” order_by=”sortorder” order_direction=”ASC” returns=”included” maximum_entity_count=”500″]

Quadratec Jeeps and Java March 2017

The first 2017 Quadratec Jeeps and Java was held on March 19th at Quadratec’s facility in West Chester, PA.  The temperature was actually tolerable for a change and the sun was shining.  The crowd and number of vehicles was impressive.  Seems everyone is itching to get out and play Jeep. Within an hour the crowd …

Jeep CJ Winch Swap Warn VR10-S to VR8-S

Soon after we installed a Warn VR10-S winch on the jeepfan.com 1978 CJ we installed some bumper modifications to the jeepfan.com 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock that included the installation of a winch.  In reviewing the options the VR10-S seemed like a perfect fit for the JK and thinking further the VR10-S seemed a bit excessive …
