What size tires for a TJ?

QUESTION: So on my 1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ I want to put some new tires and rims on but no lift. I was thinking with going with the 31 inch BFGoodrich MudTerrains with Mickey Thompson rims. If I get the 31X10.50 tires what size of rims do I go with. I am new to figuring out all this stuff so what would you recomend? Thanks for the help, Mike

ANSWER: 31″ Tires would be the largest I would stick on a non-lifted TJ. The best choice of rims would be the 15X8 size. Check the Mickey Thompson rim backspacing, most likely they will have less than the factory TJ rims. This will cause your tires to stick out further. Some rims come in varying backspacing, shoot for something larger than 4.5″
