Bladed Hand Tools

Utility Knife

A utility knife typically has a replaceable and retractable blade.  Can be used for all kinds of jobs that require slicing or cutting.  The blade is usually a standard double sided heavy duty razor.

Scraper / Putty Knife

A spatula used for scraping surfaces or spreading material.  Widths from 1 1/4" to 5" or 6" are commonly available. Stiff-blade knives, typically 1 mm or .040" thick, are suitable for scraping. Flexible-blade knives, typically 0,5 mm or .020" thick, are suitable for spreading. Disposable knives, with handle and blade molded as a single piece of plastic, are suitable for occasional jobs such as spreading body filler or sealant when cleanup is difficult or uses harmful solvents.

Razor Blade Scraper

A razor blade scraper uses standard razor blades.  The blades are replaceable and the tool typically allows the blade to be retracted for safety.  This tool is useful for scraping on delicate or smooth surfaces.  They work well removing decals, gaskets, and scraping objects off of glass surfaces.

Gasket Scraper

This tool is very similar to a standard scraper but is typically designed for scraping gaskets.  The tool usually features a screwdriver like handle and a replaceable blade.  Some use standard razor blades.

Recommendation

Set of putty/scrapers, utility knife, and razor blade knife.  Specialized gasket scrapers should be considered optional.
