Unichip Performance Module
& Airaid Cold Air Intake Dyno Test

Together with OK Auto we put two JK Wrangler Unlimiteds on the dyno at G&S Autoworks in Oxford, NJ to test the results of the performance products we were installing.

The Jeeps

Both Jeeps are a 2007 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon each equipped with a 6 speed manual transmission.

OK Auto 4WD & Tire Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited - "Rubokon"

This Jeep sits on a 4.5" BDS Lift, 37" BFG Mud Terrain tires.  Other items include an AEV Front Bumper, Bestop Highrock rear bumper, and a set of AEV Pintler Wheels.

The jeepfan.com JK is running a TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost lift, 295/75R17 (33") Toyo Open Country MT tires, and an AEV Front Bumper.

The interesting fact about this test is that both Jeeps are essentially identical except for the 4" difference in tire size.  That fact will show what larger tires will do for the effective torque and horsepower.

The Dynamometer - What and how we are testing

On the OK Rubokon we are testing the results of the installation of a Unichip performance module.

On the jeepfan.com JK we are testing the results of the installation of a Unichip performance module and a Airaid cold air intake (CAD)

Each Jeep will have 3 baseline runs and 3 runs with each performance product addition.

Each test was a full throttle 3rd gear run from 2500 rpm to 5500 rpm with the engine running at normal temperature.  We used regular octane pump gas and the shop temperature was approx 55 degrees.

The dyno used in the test was a Mustang Dynamometer 1100 series.
