Description:

Dyno tested to deliver more torque and more horsepower. How does a 13-horsepower gain @ 5,000 RPM for your 3.8L engine sound? Torque gains of over 15 ft./lbs. were also achieved at 4,000 RPM. AEM performs three-axis testing to qualify gains made at different throttle positions and to ensure extra power at every point across the rpm band. AEM air induction systems are individually tuned in length and diameter with the highest standards of construction. Kits include a powder coated CNC mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum air tube with TIG-welded fittings and brackets. AEM now includes DRYFLOW Synthetic filters with their Brute Force Induction Systems. Made from a polyester synthetic media that never degrades over time, meaning it delivers the same filtration efficiency after its 50th cleaning cycle as it does right out of the box. The powder-coated steel heat shield blocks warm engine bay air, allowing the colder (horsepower producing) air though the intake. Made in U.S.A. 50-State Legal.

Pros:
easier to reach highway speeds
Cons:
loud on acceleration but quiets at speed
I'm impressed with the quickness that I can reach highway speeds from an off ramp. I don't know that the claims are true but I'm still running with stock exhaust and ingnition system on my 2007 unlimited.
It took about 25 minutes to install the system which was pretty easy to complete with very basic tools. I'm looking forward to seeing how the hp increases with the addition of a cat-back system, ignition and possible chip.
The good: noticable increase in power accelerating to highway speeds. Engine seems to respond faster to the accelerator. I did notice my highway mileage at 70mph increased from 18.1 by the dash gauges to 20.8 over the same stretch of highway. (literally bone stock jeep in all other ways)
The down side was the loud drone when accelerating and it is not just inside the cab of the vehicle as I found out in a parking garage. It resonated well in the concrete structure.
