The TSL (Three Stage Lug) design provides extra traction and sidewall protection. These tires are a softer compound than the non-radial version which provides better grip on rocks. The self cleaning in mud is excellent and traction in the deep gooey stuff is sure.
Overall this tire is a good marriage of street and trail.

Pros:
smooth ride on road, bulges nice when aired down, gripes like a normal swamper off road, doesn't flat spot as bad a bias
Cons:
wears fast like all aggressive tires do, loud on the street
Snow performance is excellent when aired down around ten psi or lower. Not very good for wet pavement or ice. Floats very well, but can dig and grab traction with a stab at the skinny pedal. Cleans out mud very well, throws big mud balls into the air even at low rpm's. Digs in the sand like any mud tire, but floats pretty well, not the tire's high point. On road tire is pretty loud, but run really smooth. I was surprised at how smooth they are. They do flat spot on cold mornings though. They wear pretty fast, like a true swamper does. They out perform my buddy's baja claw's, bfg's, and mtr's in the snow and mud. But I would take a bogger for real off road, but they ride nice on the way home. I will buy another set when they wear out- which is almost every year. 87' 4runner, locked f/r, gears, bumpers, etc. I ran the 33-12.5-15 flavor
