Description: Volant didn’t cut corners when they designed the Cool Air Intake kits for the Wrangler. The X-link polyethylene air box and duct work is designed specifically for the Jeep. It insulates and protects the filter from pulling hot air from within the engine compartment, everyone knows cool air equals more power, Volant designed the intake to get the coolest air possible. The kit includes a cleanable filter, silicon protectors, and marine grade stainless steel clamps for an air tight seal.

For 2007 JK Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited with 3.7L engine, maximizes horsepower and increases throttle response.

Volant Filter Box: Cross-link polyethylene filter box is engineered to specific design. It insulates and protects the filter from pulling hot air from the engine compartment, thus, increasing horsepower.

Volant Air Duct: Cross-link polyethylene air ducts are sculptured to give the engine a less restrictive air pass to breathe. Larger diameters, unique bends and smooth transitions gives you maximum horsepower and awesome throttle response.

Volant PowerCore Filter: 99.99% efficient at removing dirt. Better than any other filter on the market. Yet it still flows more air than paper and doesn’t need oiling like a cotton/gauze filter. The fluted design and nano-fiber technology used in the PowerCore, makes it maintenance free and lasts 100,000 miles before you need to replace it.

Carbon Fiber look lid: Allows easy access with a sleek carbon fiber look.

High Performance Silicon Connectors: High performance silicone hose connectors provides flexibility while maintains strength and thermal stability.

Stainless Steel Clamps: Marine grade clamps allows optimal performance with large operating range and available for virtually any application which requires maintainability and versatility.

Pros: well made, bolt in stock replacement, good looks
Cons: pricey

this was my first experience with a CAI. Taking out the old was a breeze. The unit attaches the box with 1 bolt on an existing hole. The main tube assembly is a 3 piece. 1 tube and 2 rubber silicon sleeves that use 4 clamps to attach. The throttle body sleeve was a little large for the body, but once clamping down holds tight. The stock air flo sensor is used and plugs into the main tube, a little bit difficult to get out of the stock assembly. A new breather hose is given as well. The box contains the filter element which is attached with another steel clamp. The box lid attaches with 4 bolts. The box itself has two openings, a circle opening at the bottom, where a ram tube could be installed i suppose and a rectangular opening under the box lid in the front left corner, you can see the element through this opening. Once tightened the main hose holds the additional support for the box and is sturdy. I am running the 6 speed manual and this thing has a grumble. at 3000 rpm and above it just gets louder, easily heard over the stereo. Only really makes noise when your into the throttle, low rpm, easy shifting, not really noticiable. My only complaint is the jeep itself, the engine compartment gets so hot that the tube seems to heat up. After 40 minutes of medium to hard driving, the tube is almost too hot to hold onto, negating the cold air but still and improvement over stock. I ended up wrapping the tube in reflective insulation tape to help remain cooler air running through. Overall very very pleased with the product, i like the box design, helps to keep alot of the dirt and mud off the element. hope this review was helpful
