New for the 2007 Wrangler is Airaid's new cold air intake for the 3.8L engine. This system features a full length intake tube that draws through a totally redesigned Cool Air Dam. This combination yields an additional 24 lbs/ft of torque (at low rpm) and an additional 14 Horsepower, a plus for all off-road enthusiasts. Intakes are designed to isolate the heat of the engine away from the air inlet, taking advantage of the dense cool air from outside the engine compartment.

I have some numbers people were asking about on the Airaid CAI I put in. At 300 miles I put in my first tank of gas - this was pre Airaid miles. The math said I got 16.7 mpg with about a 60/40 mix of highway/city driving. The trip computer said 17.2 so pretty close.
Then I put the Airaid in, filled it up and went on a 350 mile trip yesterday. At 344 into the trip miles the gas light came on. Most of the trip was highway and most was going 75 mph or even a bit more. The math says I got almost exactly 18 mpg - the highest the trip computer read over the course of the trip was 20.3 mpg.
So I have about 650 miles on the vehicle at this point and expect the numbers to keep improving. The trip computer number kept going up over the course of the trip.
The performance improvement was noticable on both the high and low end - I noticed I had to downshift less on hills and could jump off a light faster if I wanted. I didn't lug the engine though and was careful not to jackrabbit start to see if I was getting a mpg improvement.

Is exactly as advertised. Not sure I can tell about the MPG increase/benefit, but more throttle response for sure! The mounting and install is also solid and correct. This should be your first purchase/upgrade. I have had mine installed and in use for about 8,000 miles.
My only advice/recommendation about this product is to get a Pre-filter by "Outerwears" (they make a direct fit for this AIRAID filter size). For those of you who aren't familiar...it is a paper type filter that installs over the existing filter like a glove. I made the mistake of doing some super-dusty trail riding without one, and afterwards the AIRAID filter was absolutely filthy. Of course, it cleaned right up with the re-charger kit and back to par. Now, when I hit the dirt I just slip on the pre-filter and when I'm back to the pavement I just peel it of and the AIRAID filter is dust free. If you plan to get in the mud or muck, then the Pre-filter is a must, or your filter is trashed if it gets the slop on it.
I'm sure most of you guys/gals knew that, but in case you didn't, I hope that helped.
Anyways, get the AIRAID...it is a solid product.

The air sensor is very hard to remove and I would suggest having a mechanic install system. Sensor is next to impossible to remove out of factory pipe.

We installed one of these in the jeepfan.com JK. There is a definate performance increase and an improvement in fuel mileage. There is a lot more noise from the intake, mostly noticable only during heavy throttle use. Easy install except removal of the oe temp sensor from the original intake tube. Be careful and take your time.

Air Sensor Removal.
As mentioned, do not follow airraids instructions for sensor removal. Remove the entire assembly first and then slowly twist the sensor off using a rag to protect the fingers. Took about 2 minutes tops to do this.
