2012 Wrangler Test Drive – New Engine Hype
The guys at Sands Jeep in Quakertown, PA called us the other day and said they received a 2012 Wrangler with an automatic and invited us for a test drive to see how the new 3.6L engine compares to the old 3.8L.
The Jeep was a bare bones 4 door with an automatic, hard top, 3.73 axle and air conditioning. Little bitty tires on the factory 16″ steelies where on the bottom.

2012 Jeep Wrangler Color – Dozer
New for the 2012 year is a color called Dozer. Supposed to be resembling the Allis Chambers line of heavy machinery. This is one of those colors you will love or hate. Regardless it will attract attention (even in the dark).

New 2012 Jeep Wranglers Hit Dealers
Several dealers have reported to us that 2012 Jeep Wrangler models have been arriving at dealers.
What Tires for the jeepfan.com 2012 Jeep Wrangler?
The new Jeep has recently arrived and new tires are already floating through our brains. They will defiantly be 34″ or 35″ size and will be mounted to the Moab aluminum wheels that come with the Rubicon.
Choices, choices, choices.
There are two schools of though with the latest jeepfan.com Jeep. One keep the Jeep more daily driver and weekend fun machine running 34′s and 2″ lift or go the typical route of 2.5″ lift and 35′s.
34′s and 2″ – A few manufacturers make tires that are in-between the 33 and 35″ size. Most common are the 295/70R17 which equate to a 34×11.50. This size can usually be comfortably run on a JK with no or minimal lift and no spacers. Since we want to run the Moab wheels this is a plus.
The 35′s will require a slightly higher lift and the addition of wheel spacers (on Moab wheels) to prevent the tires from rubbing on the rear control arms and front sway bar. Several manufacturers make spacers..the ones we would use will probably be SpiderTrax. Read more
2012 Jeep Wrangler Ordering
Dealers can take factory orders for the new 2012 Jeep Wranglers. Pricing and options are fully available through dealer order systems. The dealer we visited indicated they were expecting a few 2012 models within the next week or so. Their order system indicated the Jeeps shipped from Chrysler on 7/28/2011.
OK Auto OKtober Truckfest 2011
Fall begins to arrive and that means that OK Auto‘s annual OKtober Truckfest is on. This year the event will be held at OK Auto in Stewartsville, NJ on October 16th.
OK Auto Tar Holloween 2011 Offroad Event
September 30 through October 2nd, OK will be heading up to Hancock, NY for a family-friendly weekend of camping and casual trail riding on over 20 miles of trails located on privately owned land in beautiful upstate New York. This event will be open to 100 vehicles and will offer a variety of freshly cut trails built to challenge drivers of all skill levels. This is a great event for novice drivers with stock or lightly modified vehicles. There will be more trails for different difficulty levels ranging from stock/easy to extremely difficult.
