V8 Conversion – AMC to Chevy

QUESTION: Hey guys, I have an 82 CJ with a 304, thinkin bout changing to a 350. Read your article but where do you find the adapters? Have another 80 CJ with an inline 6 258 which I am going to convert to a 350, same question? Any input will be appreciated, i am a very experienced mechanic and fabricator but this is first CJ conversion. Thanks a lot, Johnny

ANSWER: The two biggest manufacturers of conversion adapters is Advance Adapters and Novak. Both make quality products and will have what you are looking for.

Rock Krawl 2010 – Rausch Creek Off-Road Park

We headed down trail B to the Power Line. From there we went up into the Hills and followed trail E to the South Property.

We proceeded on hitting a few familiar trails and exploring some new ones. We stopped by the quarry to try to take in the view. The heavy fog made even a short distance difficult to see.

There was some sure entertainment with this old Chevy pickup. The rear wheels bounced so high the truck was level on this hill for a second. When it came down the front drive shaft snapped.

After the parking lot festivities we hit the trail. Our group was small..just us in the jeepfan.com JK and Ralph from offroaders.com in their new FJ Cruiser. It was exciting to have a JK and FJ together on the trail for a little comparison. Both vehicles were well equipped for the trails and both had experienced drivers behind the wheel.

The articulation ramp was open for any takers. This JK gave it a shot and when the rear tires started rubbing the inner fender they fixed the problem with a saw.

Rock Krawl 2010 – Rausch Creek Off-Road Park

Well the weather didn’t completely cooperate with us on this day. It was the complete opposite of the day before. Rainy and chilly. The forecast looked grim and it pretty much came out as predicted – wet. Amazingly the rain was very light most of the day which allowed everyone to enjoy themselves and not get soaked to the bone.

The parking lot was buzzing with activity in the morning. Drivers were preparing their vehicles for the day ahead. Read more

The 2010 OK Open House was held on a beautiful spring day, not a cloud in the sky. There were vendors on hand and plenty of vehicles to check out. Inside the OK sales and service staff were hard at work helping customers.

Some participants took their turn testing their vehicle on OK’s Rock Pile. The course offers a rock garden as well as a hill climb that consists of large rocks, concrete slabs, and slick railroad ties.

Cobra 19DX IV CB Radio Install in a JK Wrangler

The jeepfan.com JK needed a new CB and a new location for the CB. The old Uniden was mounted below the glove box. This location was inconvienient and cumbersome.
