OK invites all their customers to come join them on Saturday May 16th for their annual Open House. This is an excellent way to meet fellow off-road enthusiasts, talk to manufacturer reps, show off your ride, test out your rig on the rock course and take advantage of one day only, in-store specials. You can also score some killer deals at our overstock and scratch-n-dent warehouse sale. This is a family friendly environment, so please feel free to bring the whole gang! Day 2, Part 1 – May 17th Rausch Creek Off Road Park in Joliett, PA.
May 17th marks the date for Rock Krawl 2009 at Rausch Creek Off-Road Park in Tremont, PA. This is a non-competitive, family oriented trail ride for all vehicle types and driver skill levels. OK Auto gave out passes to this event at their Open House on Saturday, May 16th. All you had to do is show them any OK 4WD receipt for $50.00 or more from the past year or make any purchase of $50.00 or more at the Open House. Read more

The guys at OK put together a rack that can test the roll-over point on a vehicle. A degree gauge mounted to the front of the rack indicates the degree at the point of roll over. The passenger side wheels are secured to the rack to prevent the vehicle from actually rolling over.

Mike Gray’s 1974 CJ-5 Renegade
One evening in late spring I took my family for a ride in the jeepfan.com 78 CJ-5 which was recently re-assembled from a new Holley Truck Avenger carburetor and some exhaust work. Upon returning home there were 3 CJ’s parked in front of my house, Rich, Mark, and Mike. They were out for some pre-summer air and paid a visit, luckily I returned home in time to catch them.
Jeep CJ Rear Bumper or Not
A reader writes us and asks…
Does an 1982 CJ-7 jeep originally have a back bumper ? Need to know for WV inspection sticker. Thanks, John
Well John, the 80′s version of the CJ never had an actual rear bumper. Occasionally there were dealer installed bumpers and factory installed “bumperettes” on Laredos and Renegades which were mere metal loops that did essentially nothing.
