Question: Topic – Transfer Case Swap
Question: I have an 2003 Jeep Liberty with a Command-Trac transfer case. I’d like to know if I c
an swap in a Select-Trac to gain full-time 4WD? Dave, RI
Answer: Yes, this is a relatively easy swap. Both cases share the same bolt pattern and input splines. Driveshafts will be the same too and should bolt right up. One problem will be the shifter. The original shifter will work but will not show the correct indicators when using full-time. It may be possible to find a shifter from a Select-Trac equipped Liberty and swap that too.
Holy SH&^, Paragon Could Re-Open
In a Times Leader article it states “The owner of Paragon Adventure Park scored another victory in court today when a judge ruled that Kyle Knosp – the off-road-vehicle park owner – would keep possession of the park’s land until all appeals on a lease issue have been exhausted.”
This is turning into a roller coaster story fitting of a Hollywood movie. Imagine me doing that movie guy voice “Paragon Adventure Park, the modern day, David and Goliath story. On question remains…will we wheel?”
To every Jeeper out there: If the park truly re-opens we need to go wheeling, make sure we are on our best behavior when there, patronize the local stores and restaurants, and show how much of a good thing we are for the surrounding area.
I seriously thought when I left Paragon last Saturday that would be it…perhaps the little guy can win.

An excerpt from the Times Leader: Judge Lokuta allows Paragon owner access to site.
WILKES-BARRE – A Luzerne County Judge has issued a preliminary injunction granting the owner of Paragon Adventure Park access to his off-road vehicle park, where the gate was padlocked Monday by a group who wants to build a cargo airport on the site.
Judge Ann Lokuta also barred Gladstone Partners L.P. – the group that wants to build the airport – from using the site until further notice. Her order prohibits Gladstone from denying park owner Kyle Knosp access to his personal property at the park, located partly in Hazle Township and in East Union Township in Schuylkill County…more
In a related Times Leader article from Monday
HAZLETON – Local artist and coffee shop owner John Medashefski announced on Sunday he’ll enter the city’s mayoral race on the Republican ticket.
In the article Medashefski makes a statement about Paragon…
He called the proposed cargo airport “a major asset to this city” and would support the project developers. But, he said, the positive impact on the local economy from Paragon Adventure Park, which would be displaced by the airport development, can’t be ignored. “We need to find another place for them to go with it.”…more

Gladstone possesses Paragon land
HAZLE TWP. – Gladstone Partners L.P. – the group that wants to build a cargo airport on land partially used by Paragon Adventure Park – exercised a possession order and had the gates to the park padlocked on Monday.
Paragon owner Kyle Knosp was locked out of the park and was unable to remove his possessions. “I basically had four days to dismantle my whole business,” Knosp said…more
Paragon Closed – Last Weekend Pictures
Ralph from offroaders.com and I covered the last weekend up at Paragon. I was there Saturday and he was there Sunday. Saturday’s turn
out was incredible, there were approximately 300 vehicles present. Sunday had a good showing too.
I expect in the future seeing a Paragon II. The passion and emotion Paragon’s owner Kyle Knosp showed on Saturday I think proved it to me that it’s not over. I do think that the old Paragon we knew is finished, but I am anxious to see new trails and perhaps some carrying resurrected trail names from the old park, Headless Horseman, Q, Voodoo, and the famous Turtle to name a few.

On another note, a nearby off-road park, Rausch Creek, I’m sure is doing something to accommodate Jeepers looking for a place to wheel. Rausch Creek is a considerably smaller park but still offers the off-road challenges that we crave.

Paragon Adventure Park Closing? OH NO!
I have heard the news and sadly it seems more true the more I check around.

Paragon’s appeal denied, but owner not quitting
Lycoming judge sitting in for Judge Conahan sides with landlord in lease dispute.
By STEVE MOCARSKY smocarsky@timesleader.com
WILKES-BARRE – The owner of the Paragon off-road-vehicle park says he may have lost a battle in court on Wednesday, but he hasn’t lost the war.
Sitting in for Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael Conahan, Lycoming County Senior Judge Clinton Smith dismissed an appeal that Kyle Knosp, owner of Paragon Adventure Park, filed against Gladstone Partners L.P. in an eviction case involving a lease dispute…more
In an email from Paragon’s owners…authenticity of this is unverified
Before the rumor mill starts to fly. We want to be up front with all our customers and supporters. Currently Paragon and PCA Corporation (land owner) is in legal dispute over our lease agreement for this property. We have done everything within our powers to honor our agreements with the land holding company, but they are trying to evict us from the premises so they can sell the property. We are still in business and will remain in business as long as possible and we are fighting this with every measure available.
We know the next question is how can you help. Unfortunately, there really isn’t anything you can do. We would however, appreciate everyone’s hopes and prayers for a good outcome.
Thank you for your continued support.

Another source indicated that this weekend, 2-3 & 2-4 will be the final Paragon weekend before it’s closing on Monday. If you live near Paragon this weekend may be your last opportunity.
Many of us have invested money into our off-roaders and enjoyed our weekends away from it all and it is truly a sad day. The article accused Paragon’s owner of damaging the land, how? The land is essentially completely natural with a few UNPAVED dirt roads, what will an airport do to the land? The nearby neighbors I am sure had to occasionally deal with the noise of a 4X4′er but what will an airport sound like?
I liked a quote from state Rep. Todd Eachus in the Times Leader article: “Are we going to let some ATV advocates hold up the biggest economic development project in Northeastern Pennsylvania? I hope not. … I’m hoping at the end of the day, there’s a way to resolve this,”
I hope that if Paragon is indeed closing it’s not for good-or totally. I thought Paragon was larger than the 4800 acres referred to in the news article. If it is closed, well, it was fun while it lasted, Thank you Knosp family and good luck!
Rausch Creek – better get ready!
